Director of Design
As director of planning and a Sustainable Specialist for The Martin Architectural Group, Steve’s passion for design and urban planning resonates in all the projects he has the opportunity to touch. Steven works on residential LEED projects as well as large LEED for Neighborhood Development infill projects. Steve has focused on the cultivation of the firm’s sustainable portfolio, he aims to expand the current architectural and planning services to include more projects that require special attention to carbon footprint considerations and the use of environmentally-friendly building systems and materials. Steven’s expertise covers Traditional Neighborhood Design and New Urbanist town planning as well as placemaking and other pedestrian oriented designs. He has written numerous design guidelines for new planned developments and worked with members of the public to facilitate community involvement during the planning process. Steven graduated from the University of Miami School of Architecture with a Master of Architecture and a Master of Suburb and Town Design degrees. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and is a LEED-Accredited Professional. He was previously a member of Urban Design Associates, a nationally recognized urban planning and design firm.
